🔒 Cryptographic proof · Built for England & Wales

The trust layer for contracts, evidence & legal records.

JurisChain gives you tamper-evident proof of existence, integrity and time for any document — sealed with a cryptographic fingerprint and independently verifiable. Your files never leave your device.

🇬🇧 UK GDPR by design No documents stored — hashed in your browser Anchored on Bitcoin · verifiable forever

Keep the proof file with the original document. To verify later, use the “Verify a record” tab. The sealing time is recorded on this device; Bitcoin anchoring adds independent, verifiable time that does not rely on JurisChain.

Built for where proof actually matters

Whenever a date, a signature or an unaltered record could be challenged, JurisChain gives you defensible evidence.

🏠

Conveyancing & anti-fraud

Seal ID checks, payment instructions and property documents to evidence they were unaltered — a defensible record against payment-diversion and impersonation fraud.

⚖️

Litigation evidence

Establish an immutable chain of custody for emails, logs, photos and digital records, with a verifiable certificate you can put before a tribunal.

©️

IP & authorship

Prove a design, manuscript or codebase existed on a given date — independent evidence of prior art before registration or a dispute.

📄

Contracts

Anchor the exact signed version of an agreement so neither party can later substitute or alter it without it being obvious.

🛡️

Compliance & consent

Demonstrate to an auditor that a consent, policy or record existed and has not been tampered with — UK GDPR friendly by design.

🔌

Embed via API

Add a verification layer to your own platform. White-label proof and certificates for your customers (wills, probate, proptech, RegTech).

REFORM TRACKER

Electronic wills are coming to England & Wales. The Law Commission has recommended e-wills made on a certified “reliable system” — exactly the integrity layer JurisChain builds. Follow the reform and get ready before the law changes.

How it works

Proof without ever handing over your documents.

1

Hash locally

Your browser computes a SHA-256 fingerprint of the file. The document itself never leaves your device.

2

Seal & anchor

The fingerprint is sealed with a timestamp and metadata, and anchored to the Bitcoin blockchain via OpenTimestamps for independent, trusted time — included free on every plan.

3

Issue a certificate

You receive a portable proof file and a verifiable certificate — ready to share with a court, counterparty or beneficiary.

4

Verify anytime

Anyone can re-hash the file and confirm it matches the sealed record. If a single byte changed, the check fails.

Security & trust, in plain words

No badges — just exactly what we do and don't do with your data.

What never leaves your device

  • Your documents and their contents — hashing happens in your browser (WebCrypto).
  • Your sealed-records list — stored locally on your device only.

What we process

  • The 64-character SHA-256 fingerprint you choose to anchor (it cannot be reversed into your document).
  • Contact details you submit through the request-access form.
  • Standard server logs and IP-based rate limiting on the anchoring endpoint.

Independent by design

  • Anchoring uses OpenTimestamps, an open standard on Bitcoin — proofs remain verifiable even if JurisChain disappears.
  • Verification is public and free, with no account.
  • No third-party trackers, no ads, no analytics scripts on this site.

Legal standing, honestly stated

  • Electronic evidence is admissible in civil proceedings in England & Wales (Civil Evidence Act 1995); its weight is for the court.
  • Under UK eIDAS (art. 41), an electronic time stamp cannot be denied legal effect solely because it is electronic.
  • Cryptographic sealing evidences integrity and existence; it does not by itself determine the legal validity of a document.

Who's behind JurisChain

JurisChain is built in London by Alejandro Díaz Silva, a founder with fifteen years of ventures in industries where compliance is existential — where one unverifiable record can cost you the deal, the licence or the case. That experience left a simple conviction: proof shouldn't depend on who holds the file. It should be infrastructure — open, neutral and verifiable by anyone.

JurisChain is built exactly that way: documents hashed on your own device, fingerprints anchored to the Bitcoin blockchain, certificates anyone can verify forever — with us or without us. Nothing proprietary to trust, nothing to take on faith. It is also the integrity layer the next generation of digital legal records in England & Wales — including electronic wills made on certified “reliable systems” — will require. Follow the reform →

Frequently asked questions

No. JurisChain computes a SHA-256 fingerprint of your file directly in your browser. Only that fingerprint (a one-way hash) is sealed — never the document, its contents, or any readable copy. This keeps you in control of confidential material and is friendly to UK GDPR obligations by design.
No. JurisChain is technology infrastructure — a verification and proof layer. We are not a law firm, we do not provide legal advice, and we are not a substitute for a solicitor or a notary public. Firms use our tools alongside their own professional judgement.
The sealing time is recorded when you create the proof. For independent, tamper-resistant time, the fingerprint is anchored to the Bitcoin blockchain (via OpenTimestamps), so the existence of the document at that point can be verified by anyone, without trusting JurisChain. Anchors confirm on-chain within a few hours and your .ots proof upgrades automatically.
No. Bitcoin anchoring via OpenTimestamps is included on every plan — including the free tier — during our pilot phase. Anchoring requests are rate-limited per device to keep the service available for everyone; if you need volume, use the API.
Anyone holding the original file and the proof can re-compute the fingerprint and compare it to the sealed record. A match proves the file is byte-for-byte identical to what was sealed. Any change — even one character — produces a different fingerprint and fails the check.
Electronic wills are not yet legally valid in England & Wales. The Law Commission's Modernising Wills Law report (May 2025) recommends reform built around a certified “reliable system”. JurisChain is building the proof and integrity layer such systems will require, so partners can be ready when the law changes — but we don't represent that e-wills are valid today. Follow the reform in our tracker →
Yes. Our API lets wills, probate, conveyancing, proptech and RegTech platforms add white-labelled sealing, certificates and verification to their own products. Get in touch for sandbox keys.
